Comprehensive Cardiac Care
From initial diagnosis to ongoing management, we offer a complete spectrum of cardiology services using the latest diagnostic technology—all delivered with the personal attention your pet deserves.
What to Expect at Your Visit
Your pet's comfort is our priority. Every visit begins with a warm welcome and a thorough conversation about your concerns.
Most cardiac evaluations take 45-60 minutes. We'll walk you through our findings in real-time when possible, and always provide a clear, detailed explanation of the diagnosis and recommended treatment plan.

Advanced Cardiac Diagnostics
State-of-the-art technology to accurately diagnose your pet's condition.
Echocardiogram
Heart Ultrasound
A non-invasive ultrasound of your pet's heart specialized by Doppler technology and performed by a board-certified cardiologist.
It allows us to assess the heart's structure, function, and blood flow. This comprehensive diagnostic tool helps us to identify and monitor your pet's heart disease and guide treatment decisions. During the procedure, a probe is placed on your pet's chest using pet-safe ultrasound gel.
Electrocardiogram (ECG)
A non-invasive diagnostic test that measures and records the electrical activity of your pet's heart.
Pet-friendly, gentle clips are attached to your pet's skin to detect the electrical signals from the heart. The ECG machine converts these signals into a visual graph showing the heart's rate, rhythm and electrical conduction, allowing us to identify and treat arrhythmias.
Thoracic Radiography
Chest X-Rays
A non-invasive diagnostic test that allows us to assess your pet's heart, lungs, major blood vessels, and other structures within the thorax.
Your pet will lay on their side, belly and back to obtain these images with our specialized technicians. The images are used to diagnose and evaluate abnormalities of the thorax, particularly your pet's lungs. Images are sent to a board-certified radiologist for review.
Doppler Blood Pressure
A non-invasive diagnostic test that measures your pet's systemic blood pressure.
Your pet lays on their side while a small Doppler tool is applied to their skin. A cuff is placed around their arm and used to assess blood pressure. This information helps guide medical treatment.
Holter Monitoring
72-Hour ECG
HeartVet utilizes a very small wearable device called an ePatch by Phillips that continuously records your pet's heart rate and rhythm for 72 hours.
It helps assess the frequency and severity of arrhythmias. The patch is placed over the heart and secured by special bandage tape (and sometimes jacket) for 72 hours. This is very well tolerated by most patients and is used for pets with suspected arrhythmias, signs of weakness or fainting, or for monitoring treatment effectiveness.
Specialized Evaluations
Targeted assessments for specific needs and concerns.
Pre-Anesthetic Evaluation
HeartVet is here to help you and your veterinarian determine if your pet is a good candidate for anesthesia.
This involves a complete patient history, thorough cardiopulmonary examination and Echocardiogram to obtain a full assessment of your pet's heart. Sometimes an Electrocardiogram is also necessary to evaluate your pet's individual anesthetic needs.
OFA & Breed Screening
Canine & Feline
We offer complete OFA and feline breed screening by a board-certified cardiologist.
Following a complete echocardiogram, an OFA form is filled out and provided. This is essential for breeders and for identifying hereditary cardiac conditions in predisposed breeds.
Screening Echocardiogram
A comprehensive assessment of your pet's heart health for pets not showing clinical signs (subclinical heart disease).
This provides peace of mind for concerned pet parents and helps identify any underlying heart disease. It allows us to assess structure, function, and blood flow, guiding treatment decisions if necessary to improve quality and quantity of life.
Cough Assessment
A coughing pet can be challenging, both for the pet's family and their veterinary team! HeartVet is highly specialized in diagnosing and treating your pet's cough.
We use thoracic radiography and an Echocardiogram (if indicated) to determine a working diagnosis and treatment plan. If necessary, we can help you find the right referral practice for more advanced tests.
Treatment & Management
Ongoing care to help your pet live their best life.
